Data Sources

The data in the neoproperties database is compiled from a variety of sources. Contents of the database are updated approximately quarterly. Versions are tracked by the release date. Tables listing the sources included in the release are found below. If multiple data sources provide information on a specific object, all values are available in the single object view. The rules used to determine which value(s) to display in the summary table are enumerated here. A glossary of the contents of the database is available here.

Referencing Information from neoproperties
When using data obtained from neoproperties, the user is strongly encouraged to reference both neoproperties.nasa.gov and the original data source for the value(s). References for the original data source should be available via the summary table and single object view. If there are any questions as to the original data source, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
